This service is for Booster Doses only (1st, 2nd or 3rd) using the new Adapted Vaccines. These vaccines are adapted versions of the original vaccines to target the Omicron BA.1 subvariant in addition to the original strain of SARS-CoV-2.

Vaccine in use:

  • Nov 16th – Nov 30th – Moderna Spikevax Adapted BA.1 Vaccine
  • Dec 1st – Jan 16th – Pfizer Comirnaty Adapted BA.4 & BA.5 Vaccine

We are no longer giving Primary Course vaccinations (Dose 1 or 2) – This must be done in a Vaccination Centre.

Please carefully read the eligibility criteria below carefully before booking.

  • Anyone who is 12-15 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian
  • 3rd Booster Dose is available to:
    • People over 65 years of age
  • 2nd Booster Dose is available to:
    • People over 50 years of age
    • People 16 or more weeks pregnant
    • People with high risk medical conditions (see HSE list here)
    • Healthcare workers (Work ID or letter from employer required)
  • 1st Booster Dose is available to:
    • Anyone 12 years of age or older
    • 12-15 year olds must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
  • Vaccine Intervals
    • Your 1st Booster Dose must be at least 120 days after your last dose of vaccine or a positive COVID test
    • Your 2nd Booster dose must be at least 120 days after your 1st booster or a positive COVID test.
    • Your 3rd Booster dose must be at least 120 days after your 2nd booster or a positive COVID test.
  • Please do not book an earlier date than you are eligible for as we will not be able to give the vaccine and it will go to waste.

Please note that is essential that you arrive on time for your appointment. Failure to do so may cause you to miss your vaccination.

Book your COVID-19 Booster Vaccination at Foley’s Chemist. Bookings are every 30 minutes from 11.00am to 12.30pm and 3.00pm to 4.30pm Monday to Friday*

*excluding bank holidays

 

The High Risk group includes people who:

  • have a learning disability other than Down syndrome
  • are being treated for cancer but are not very high risk
  • have been treated in the past 5 years for a cancer of the blood or bone marrow (such as leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma)
  • have been treated in the past year with immunomodulating treatment for a cancer that did not start in the blood or bone marrow
  • have chronic heart disease (such as heart failure)
  • have chronic kidney disease with an eGFR below 30ml a minute
  • have chronic liver disease (such as cirrhosis or fibrosis)
  • have a condition affecting the brain or nerves (such as Parkinson’s disease or cerebral palsy) that affects their breathing or ability to protect or clear their airway
  • have clinically stable cystic fibrosis
  • have a serious lung condition but are not at very high risk, for example, severe asthma, moderate COPD, emphysema or bronchitis
  • have diabetes
  • are taking medicine that makes your immune system weak (such as high doses of steroids)
  • have a condition that means you have a high risk of getting infections (such as lupus, scleroderma, or HIV when not on treatment or CD4 count <200)
  • have an inherited metabolic disorder but are not very high risk
  • have obesity with a body mass index (BMI) between 35 and 40
  • have a severe mental illness (such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, severe depression)
